METRANS mobile application
For METRANS, we designed and developed a mobile application that extends their existing company intranet into a modern mobile environment. The project was based on a real internal need: to make important company information, documents, news and internal content easily accessible to employees directly from their mobile devices.
The METRANS intranet itself was also created and developed by epix media. The mobile application therefore naturally builds on an existing digital ecosystem and works as its mobile version, adapted for everyday use on iOS and Android devices.
About the client
METRANS is an international logistics and intermodal transport company operating in several European countries. The company has approximately 4,000 employees and its internal communication needs to work reliably across different countries, languages and organisational structures.
The mobile application is used in multiple countries where METRANS operates, including Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Poland and other locations connected to the company’s internal systems.
Project background
The main goal of the project was to bring the existing intranet closer to employees who do not always work at a desktop computer. In a company with many employees working across terminals, offices, logistics operations and different countries, access to internal information through a mobile phone is a major practical advantage.
The application allows employees to access selected intranet content, company news, documents and internal information in a more convenient way. Instead of relying only on the desktop version of the intranet, employees can use a dedicated mobile application connected to the same content base.
What we delivered
The project included analysis, technical planning, mobile application design, React Native development, backend connection, testing, publishing preparation and long-term technical support. The application was designed as a practical internal tool, not only as a visual extension of the website.

Technology
The mobile application was developed in React Native, which allows efficient development for both iOS and Android from one shared codebase. This approach is suitable for corporate applications where consistency, maintainability and further development are important.
The backend and content structure are based on Drupal, which provides a stable foundation for content management, user access, permissions and integration with internal systems. Drupal works as the central content and administration layer, while the mobile application provides a user-friendly mobile interface for employees.

Half a year of development
The project was developed over approximately six months. During this period, we worked on the application concept, technical architecture, design, implementation, testing and preparation for distribution. Since the application is intended for a large international company, the development required careful planning, stable technical decisions and attention to long-term maintainability.
For us, this project was not only about creating a mobile application, but about extending an existing internal digital system into a mobile environment in a way that is useful, secure and sustainable for the client.
